APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION TO THE INTEGRATED UNDERGRADUATE AND GRADUATE PROGRAM: MEDICAL STUDIES IN ENGLISH IN THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2025/2026 (first call)

The admission procedure for all prospective applicants comprises:

  1. Completed secondary education or equivalent from the country where the education was acquired (overall average over the continuum of all 4 years of the secondary school education comprising all the grades, together with the specific evaluation of grades in Biology, Chemistry and Physics).
  2. Psychophysical abilities to study medicine

The above conditions represent the priority criteria which will be used for selection of candidates.

Number of available places:

Number of available places is determined each year for the upcoming academic year. For upcoming enrollment 30 full-time students, citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina or foreign citizens are predicted.

Title: Doctor of Medicine

The title of doctor of medicine that a person received after completing the examination enabled professional work in the primary care system. The condition for independent work is a published state exam. Employment is not strictly limited to the primary care system, but also other areas of health care, scientific research, academic advancement in industry.

Required application components:

  • a completed application form (available at the School of Medicine or online at: https://mef.sum.ba/engl/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Application_form.docx
  • citizenship certificate (for Bosnia and Herzegovina citizens) or photocopy of passport (for foreign citizens);
  • birth certificate (original or verified copy in English language);
  • two photos for student’s file in dimensions 4× 6 cm
  • originals and 2 examples of certified copies of the diploma and their official translation to Croatian language (may be submitted later in the proceedings);
  • Decision on Recognition of Foreign Educational Qualifications (more information at: http://www.fmon.gov.ba/Nostrifikacija/Index) for applicants who have completed their previous education abroad; can be submitted later in the proceedings
  • Certificate of English Language (one of the following): proof of four-year English language learning during high school education; Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) or Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) if the previous education was not in English language
  • a CV and a written statement on the reasons for enrolling in the study of medicine in English language in Mostar;
  • a statement on health and psychophysical abilities for medical studies (part of the application form);
  • a statement or certificate of financial capacity (of candidates, parents or institutions) necessary for funding the study;
  • proof of payment for Admission fee in amount of 140,00 BAM

The payment in foreign currencies (EUR, HRK, USD etc.) must be paid in the exact amount (for Admission fee 140, 00 BAM / for Annual tuition fee 18 000, 00 BAM) according to the exchange rate on the day of payment.

Important note :

Please when making a payment (for Admission fee/Annual tuition fee), mark on the payment slip that you bear the costs of bank fees of your own and international bank.

Annual tuition fee: 18 000 BAM

Duration of study is 6 years. Tuition must be paid within one week from the date of receiving formal letter of acceptance in electronic format. By completion of the payment, candidate is considered to be officially enrolled into the Program. All tuition fees are non-refundable.

The deadline for application submission: September 19th 2025. or until all the places are filled.

Applications must be sent at latest on September 19th 2025. via email, post or in person (until 02:00 PM at the Student’s Office).

After online application, students are obligated to bring whole original documentation in person to Student Administration Office.

When School of Medicine University of Mostar receives documentation sent via email or post, School of Medicine University of Mostar will send an e-mail of confirmation to the candidate.

Candidate must reconfirm the receipt of this e-mail. School of Medicine University of Mostar will not take responsibility for undelivered or as spam recognized e-mails. If the candidate sends all documentation properly within the deadline and don´t receive an e-mail of confirmation, candidate is obligated to contact School of Medicine University of Mostar to check the receipt of documentation. Incomplete, late sent applications and applications sent only by e-mail or only by post will not be considered.

Special note: Students enrolled in medical studies in English do not have the opportunity of switching on Croatian language medical study program at our School of Medicine and they can’t be exempted from paying for tuition during their studies.
