Cleaning the Doljanka River in Jablanica

We invite all students to participate in the “Cleaning the Doljanka River” project.
The goal of the project is to restore the river after the severe rainfall and flooding that occurred on October 4th, 2024. The initiative aims to remove pollution from the Doljanka River in Jablanica and promote long-term environmental awareness.

The “Za Doljanka” initiative from Jablanica is responding to the severe flooding that caused the formation of torrential sediments and the overflow of the Doljanka River, which carried waste from nearby illegal landfills into the river. This pollution threatens the local ecosystem and water quality. The project addresses these challenges by supporting the Za Doljanka organization and involving schools and students in environmental education and clean-up efforts.

As part of the project, a presentation will be held by the Za Doljanka NGO on Wednesday, March 19th, 2025, at 10:30 AM in the Amphitheater of the University of Mostar School of Medicine.

We invite everyone interested in participating in the project to attend the presentation. The date for the cleanup action in Jablanica will be announced soon. It will take place on a weekend day within the upcoming weeks. Transportation to Jablanica and back to Mostar, along with some snacks during the action, will be provided by Za Doljanka.
