Academic Year 2027–2028
The Government of Switzerland, through the Federal Commission for Scholarships for Foreign Students (FCS), is pleased to announce the opening of the application cycle for Swiss Government
Excellence Scholarships for the 2027–2028 academic year.
These prestigious scholarships are available to international scholars and researchers who wish to
pursue:
▪ Doctoral (PhD) studies
▪ Research Fellowship
at Swiss higher education institutions.
Please note that Bachelor’s, Master’s and Arts programmes (including music and fine arts) are not eligible for this scholarship scheme.
How does one apply for a Swiss Government Excellence Scholarship?
Applications must be submitted exclusively online via the GO ESKAS (Grants Online ESKAS):
